Wearable Technology and Internet

Technology has been able to blend into our daily life seamlessly thanks to the impact that the Internet as a communication platform has had in our life.

The Internet has allowed free flow of unbelievable amount of information that in combination with devices such as tablets, smart phones, and personal computers is making computing experiences “ubiquitous, ” and it has influenced tremendously the way we communicate, congregate, share information, work, learn, profit, govern, shop, and most importantly the way we live. Indeed, with the “Internet of Everything,” life has become more convenient, efficient and productive.

The incorporation of technology into garments or accessories has came as response of a logical step in consumer evolution. Today, clothing is proving that we are living in a time where technology is moving pretty quickly into our everyday life in many different ways. There is no doubt that fashion is going through a revolutionary stage of technology intervention thanks to the creation of wearable technologies where cloth is playing a vital role. “We've gone from room-sized computers to desktops to laptops to smartphones and tablets. The next logical step in consumer tech is to integrate devices directly with our bodies.”[1]
